Overview

Housekeeper II will follow environmental services cleaning protocols. Required terminal and isolation cleaning including COVID19 isolation areas. Required use of disinfecting agents including but not limited to alcohol based, bleach based and peroxide based products. Moderate pushing and pulling. Standing for extending period of time required. Every other weekend and every other holiday required.

7am-3pm.

 

 

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the supervisor, assists with planning and directs the day to day operations of the Housekeeping department.

 

  • Participates in the department’s quality assurance program: responsible for a minimum of five quality controls daily; unit specific quality control report
  • Continuous rounding to identify cleanliness issues
  • Delivers linen to floors, as needed
  • Assists with day to day operations
  • Provides follow up of staff work assignments
  • Effectively performs a variety of housekeeping function including mopping, dusting, sanitizing, wiping, scrubbing, buffing and other manual jobs on floors, walls, beds and furniture
  • Performs Discharge and terminal cleanings
  • Collects and disposes of regular and medical waste
  • Replenishes all dispensers
  • Responsible for proper allocation of cubical curtains
  • Maintains Housekeeping carts for staff
  • Responsible for the orientation and training of new Environmental Services workers.
  • Controls Bed Management system as needed

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

 

Work Experience:

One-year clinical experience in accredited hospital with OR cleaning experience preferred

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to understand oral/written instructions in English.

Knowledgeable on proper PPE and OR attire.

Ability to understand the operation of some equipment and machinery and ability function independently.

Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
