The Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Tech records and manages the information of the electrical conduction of the heart muscle on an electrocardiogram recorder to assist the physician in thediagnosis of cardiac disease.

Responsibilities

  • Applies, removes, reads Holter monitor recorders and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
  • Gathers data for pacemaker evaluation transmits.
  • Immediately reports to station calling code or MRT, prepared with EKG equipment.
  • Prints, faxes, and sends appropriate ECGs to offices and next provider of care.
  • Effectively manages EKGs within the Epiphany management System.
  • Notifies BioMed for any faulty equipment.
  • Recognizes artifact and takes appropriate steps to eliminate same.
  • Performs proper lead placement.
  • Assists with orientation of new employees to department and with in-services to techs throughout the hospital under the guidance professionaldevelopment and leadership.
  • Assists with administrative tasks in the CV department.
  • Assists in preparing cardiac stress test patients.
  • Assists in the care of cardiac rehabilitation patients.
  • Assists with collecting data for performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalency required
  • Related experience preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • CCI certification preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be able to use computer and keyboard
