Responsibilities

Performs duties relating to credit/customer service:

  • Provides information about billing.
  • Deals directly with customers either by telephone, electronically, or face to face.
  • Responds promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Handles and resolves customer complaints.
  • Directs requests and unresolved issues to designated resource/lead.
  • Manages patient accounts via workflow.
  • Processes refunds.
  • Keeps records of customer interactions and transactions via notes.
  • Records details of inquiries, comments, and complaints.
  • Records details of actions taken via TRACE phone system.
  • Acts as a back up to cash posting and charity care processes.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Proficiency in Word and Exel required
  • Prior experience in a medical credit/collections office, medical billing, medical insurance claims, adjuster or verifier required
  • Previous experience in medical financial setting with ICD9 and CPT coding preferred
  • Strong verbal and written skills, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem solving skills
  • Adaptability
