  • Overview

    Under the direction of the department manager and supervisor, establishes programs and procedures to insure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations pertaining to disposal of hazardous materials and wastes.

    Responsibilities

    • Directs the collection, packaging, transportation and removal of hazardous waste and regulated medical waste.
    • Ensures facility's hazardous materials and waste program is in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
    • Trains facility staff in accordance with OSHA and accrediting agency requirements.
    • Maintains required documentation pertaining to hazardous materials and waste program.
    • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of department budget.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

     

    Work Experience:

    • A minimum of one year experience required.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • Ability to understand oral/written instructions in English.

    May be exposed to dust, lint, unpleasant odors or extreme temperatures.

     No expected exposure to blood and/or body fluids.
